Mr Adrian Tan
Singaporean conductor Adrian Tan is the Music Director of the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra, Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra and the Singapore Wind Symphony.
He enjoys an active international career as a guest conductor having appeared with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Grand Theatre Philharmonic (China), Siam Sinfonietta (Thailand), Opera Siam (Thailand), Ji Yin Wind Symphony (Taiwan), The Bridges Collective (Australia), KLM Orchestra (The Netherlands), UiTM Symphony Orchestra (Malaysia) and the Filharmonica ‘Mihail Jora” di Bacau (Romania) amongst others. He has served as artist-in-residence with the TubaMania Festival & Universiti Technologi MARA and on the competition juries of the Taiwan International Band Festival and the Festival Orkestra SBP (Malaysia). He is currently serving on the faculty of the Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music as lecturer in orchestral studies and conducting, and has also been named Conducting Fellow of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra for 2016/2017.
A recipient of the prestigious NAC Overseas Scholarship, Adrian received his Masters in Music Studies (Conducting) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music studying with Maestro Imre Pallo. He has also studied with Apo Hsu, Robert Gutter, Ovidiu Balan, Harold Farberman, Tsung Yeh and Gunther Herbig. A passionate advocate for Singaporean composers and new music from Asia, he has led world premiere performances of more than 100 new works in concerts around the world.
